Certainly the spur should be of the same nature as /longs/, or failing that, /n/. For your Didot, only horizontal spurs make sense to me. I also don't see why the spur should be an offstroke rat…2 -

The weight and contrast look somewhat uneven to me. For instance, the /f/ is much heavier and lower in contrast than the following /g/; the /s/ and /u/ look lighter than /r/t/w/. The sharp edge in /j…1 -
